The Commis Chef is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food in accordance with the standards set by the kitchen management. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience and grow within a professional kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes under the supervision of senior chefs.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in the kitchen.
- Ensure food is prepared and presented to the required quality and standards.
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the kitchen.
- Rotate stock and ensure proper labeling to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, and dishes.
- Comply with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, ensuring proper handling and storage of food items.
- Be willing to learn and develop skills by taking feedback from senior chefs.
- Work as part of a team to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
