As a Commis, you will:

  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of cold dishes, salads, appetizers, and desserts, ensuring high standards of taste, texture, and visual appeal.
  • Work closely with Sous Chef, Head Chef and culinary team to maintain consistency and quality in all food offerings.
  • Learn and master techniques for food preparation, including slicing, plating, and garnishing, under the guidance of experienced chefs.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Support the culinary team during service hours, including mise en place and inventory management for food items.
  • Embrace opportunities for learning and growth, contributing to the innovation and creativity of our culinary offerings.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of Italian dishes according to established recipes and standards.
  • Prepare ingredients, mise en place, sauces, and garnishes for daily kitchen operations.
  • Support the culinary team during food service while ensuring consistency and quality standards are maintained.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas at all times.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures and standards.
  • Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of food products.
  • Assist in monitoring stock levels and minimizing food wastage.
  • Learn and apply cooking techniques and kitchen procedures under the guidance of senior chefs.
  • Support smooth and efficient kitchen operations during busy service periods.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to deliver exceptional guest dining experiences.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, discipline, and a willingness to learn in all aspects of the role.
  • Participate in training and development initiatives to enhance culinary skills and product knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality environment is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication and organizational skills.
