Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher to prepare, cut, trim, debone, and package meat products while maintaining the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and customer service. The ideal candidate should have experience in a hypermarket, supermarket, or wholesale FMCG environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, debone, and prepare beef, mutton, lamb, chicken, and other meat products according to company standards.
• Portion, weigh, package, and label meat products for retail and wholesale sales.
• Ensure meat displays are attractive, well-stocked, and maintained at all times.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in compliance with company policies.
• Operate and maintain butchery equipment such as band saws, meat grinders, slicers, and knives safely.
• Inspect meat quality and ensure proper storage and stock rotation using the FIFO method.
• Monitor inventory levels and report stock shortages or quality concerns.
• Minimize wastage through efficient cutting and proper handling of meat products.
• Assist customers with product selection, custom cuts, and cooking recommendations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Support periodic stock counts and inventory audits.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Butchery Supervisor or Store Manager.

Qualifications

• High school qualification or equivalent preferred.
• Professional training or certification in butchery is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience as a Butcher in a hypermarket, supermarket, wholesale, or FMCG retail environment.
• Experience handling beef, mutton, lamb, poultry, and seafood is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent meat cutting, trimming, and deboning skills.
• Knowledge of meat quality standards and food safety regulations.
• Proficiency in operating butchery equipment safely.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
