What you will be doing:

  • Assist in the preparation and production of high-quality bakery items including bread, cakes, and pastries.
  • Support the Chef de Partie in daily bakery operations, ensuring consistency in quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Ensure mise-en-place is prepared and maintained efficiently throughout service.
  • Follow recipes and presentation guidelines while being open to learning new techniques and styles.
  • Uphold the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with HACCP and food safety guidelines.
  • Maintain proper stock rotation and assist in monitoring inventory levels in the bakery section.
  • Work collaboratively with the pastry and kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely service for all outlets and events.
  • Take ownership of your section when delegated, and proactively address any issues that arise during preparation or service.
  • Demonstrate initiative in learning and growing your pastry and bakery skills under the guidance of senior chefs.
  • Handle guest dietary requests and preferences with care and attention when required for personalized service.


Qualifications


Your experience and skills include:

  • Previous experience in a professional bakery or pastry kitchen, preferably in a hotel or fine dining setting
  • Culinary certification or diploma in bakery/pastry is preferred
  • Strong passion for baking and pastry arts, with attention to detail and quality
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Understanding of hygiene and food safety standards
