Position Summary

Theย Kitchen Assistantย supports the culinary team in food preparation, kitchen organization, and maintaining cleanliness standards. This role is essential in ensuring smooth kitchen operations by assisting chefs with basic food preparation tasks, maintaining hygiene standards, and ensuring ingredients and supplies are readily available during service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist chefs with basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients.
  • Prepare mise en place and ensure ingredients are available for daily operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations, storage areas, and equipment.
  • Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of food products in accordance with food safety standards.
  • Assist with receiving, checking, and storing deliveries.
  • Support kitchen staff during service periods by replenishing ingredients and supplies as needed.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP requirements.
  • Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and preparation areas.
  • Minimize food waste through proper handling and storage procedures.
  • Perform other kitchen support duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, catering, or hospitality kitchen is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and kitchen operations.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a professional kitchen environment.
