Job Purpose:

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for managing procurement activities related to marine operations, ensuring the timely sourcing and delivery of high-quality materials, equipment, spare parts, and services required for vessels, offshore operations, and marine projects. The role requires strong knowledge of marine suppliers, ship spare parts, technical specifications, and international procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities for marine equipment, vessel spare parts, consumables, tools, and services.
  • Source and evaluate marine suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and reliability.
  • Review purchase requests, technical specifications, and operational requirements to prepare accurate purchase orders.
  • Coordinate with vessel operations, technical teams, maintenance departments, and project teams to understand procurement needs.
  • Procure marine machinery spare parts, navigation equipment, safety equipment, deck and engine supplies, and other vessel-related materials.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contractual conditions with suppliers.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local and international marine vendors.
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines, and compliance with company standards.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, maritime regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Manage urgent and emergency procurement requirements for vessels and offshore operations.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, and documentation.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives through effective sourcing and supplier negotiations.
  • Coordinate logistics, shipping documentation, customs requirements, and delivery arrangements for imported marine supplies.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Officer, Buyer, or Supply Chain professional within the marine, offshore, shipping, or oil & gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of marine spare parts, vessel equipment, and technical procurement processes.
  • Experience dealing with ship chandlers, marine suppliers, manufacturers, and international vendors.
  • Understanding of Incoterms, import/export procedures, and international logistics.
  • Ability to read and understand technical specifications and equipment manuals.
  • Experience using procurement systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office applications.
