JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are searching for a reliable MEP Quantity Surveyor to join our capable team of professionals. The quantity surveyor will be tasked with analyzing existing budgets and making improvements, reviewing plans and preparing quantity estimates, negotiating with various contractors and vendors, as well as building relationships with clients and site managers.

Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
  • Scrutinizing maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals.
  • Liaising with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Preparing reports, analyses, contracts, budgets, risk assessment, and other documents.
  • Advising managers and clients on improvements and new strategies.
  • Keeping track of materials and ordering more when required.
  • Documenting any changes in design and updating budgets.
  • Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Traveling from the office to various sites as required.

  • Cost planning:ย Creates initial budgets and checks if a project is affordable.

During Construction

  • Budget control:ย Tracks ongoing spending to make sure costs stay on target.
  • Paying contractors:ย Checks work done on-site and approves regular payment amounts.
  • Managing changes:ย Prices extra work or design updates requested by the client.

After Construction Ends

  • Final accounts:ย Settles all final costs and closes out sub-contractor payments.
  • Dispute support:ย Helps solve legal or money arguments between parties.
  • Measuring work:ย Reads blueprints to count materials, labor, and parts needed.
  • Tender packages:ย Writes up the bills of quantities so builders can bid on the job.

Quantity Surveyor Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degreeย in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or similar.
  • Construction estimating or finance experienced is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Sound knowledge of construction.
  • Excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and strategize.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Great networking abilities.
