A Workshop Supervisor oversees daily operations in a manufacturing, automotive, or industrial setting. They are primarily responsible for managing technicians, coordinating workflow, enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring all repairs, maintenance, or production targets are completed efficiently and to high-quality standards. - Team Leadership:ย Manage, roster, and train workshop staff. Conduct performance evaluations and foster a positive work environment.
- Workflow & Planning:ย Prioritize work orders, assign tasks, and schedule maintenance or repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Quality Assurance:ย Inspect completed work and test machinery to ensure it meets safety and operational standards before delivery.
- Inventory & Administration:ย Monitor and order spare parts, tools, and materials. Maintain accurate records and job card logs.
- Health & Safety (HSE):ย Ensure strict adherence to workplace safety regulations and proper usage of personal protective equipment
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education:ย Typically requires a relevant trade certification, diploma, or degree in a related technical field (e.g., mechanical, automotive, or industrial engineering).
- Experience:ย 3โ5 years of hands-on technical experience combined with prior supervisory or team-lead responsibilities.
- Technical Skills:ย Proficiency in equipment diagnostics, blueprint reading, and operating standard workshop machinery.
- Soft Skills:ย Strong problem-solving capabilities, clear communication, and the ability to manage budgets and timelines.
